EBW & EFI Ordnance Products | High Voltage Potted Assemblies | EBW Detonators
Our High Voltage division produces a range of laboratory and field equipment for firing Exploding BridgeWire (EBW) detonators and Exploding Foil Initiators (EFI). We also specialise in the design and manufacture of encapsulated high voltage assemblies for airborne radar and similar applications.
EBW and EFI Firing Systems
|
FE106 - 6 channel EBW Fireset
The FE106 firing system has been specifically designed to sequence the firing of up to six EBW detonators from an incomming pulse, contact short or pushbutton. It is 19 inch rack mountable and intended primarily for fixed installations. |
|
FD201 - Portable EBW Fireset
The FD20106 is a portable single channel EBW fireset with a built in delay generator which enables the units to be 'daisy-chained' to create sequenced field firings. |
|
Firing Modules & Leads
The FE106 and FD201 systems can be supplied with a choice of three types of remote firing module. For more information on firing modules and interconnecting leads click here |
|
TA 20 - Current/Voltage/Risetime tester
The TA20 provides a simple method of checking the function of your firesets and 'hook-up'. It is connected in place of the detonator and checks the voltage, current and current risetime of the firing pulse. The result is latched until manually reset. |
|
EFI Rapid Discharge Circuit
Exploding Foil Initiators (EFI) require a fast current pulse delivered by a very low inductance circuit in which the detonator hook-up is a critical part of the circuit. For this reason we do not manufacture a stand alone EFI fireset. However, we have developed circuit building blocks (like the miniature RDC shown) which can form the basis of an EFI firing system. |
EBW Detonators
Reynolds produce A range of EBW and EFI detonators for military and offshore applications.
High Voltage Potted Assemblies
We design and build-to-print high voltage assemblies for airborne radar, laser and related applications. These include filters, dividers, and circuit sub-assemblies. The assemblies are normally enapsulated in epoxy or silicon rubber. Our facilities include vacuum chambers, curing ovens and a range of high voltage test facilities which include environmental (hot/cold/altitude) and corona testing. Some typical examples are shown below:
|
Capacitor Bank
This image shows a 36KV capacitor bank prior to potting in flame retardant epoxy. It will be used in an airborne radar |
|
Laser Power Supply
This part assembly is ready to be fitted into a laser power supply module. It has been precoated to ensure good adhesion of the different materials to the silicon rubber potting. Several different rubbers may be used within a single assembly in order to achieve the required insulation, thermal and mechanical properties. |
