Etched and Silicone Coated FEP Cable
with Nomex™ Woven Protective Jacket
ETCHED
FEP WITH NOMEX JACKET
Etched FEP cable has a
continuously etched surface for those applications
requiring direct bonding or encapsulation such as high
voltage power supplies. The etching process allows
the cable to adhere to many different potting materials
with minimal preparation, especially epoxy & other
compatible resins. With the addition of a NOMEX
woven jacket over the continuously etched surface of the
FEP insulation, the cable offers excellent abrasion
resistance.

SILICONE COATED FEP WITH NOMEX JACKET
Silicone coated FEP
is processed with a silicone rubber coating applied
to the etched surface in the form of a thin wall,
continuous extrusion thereby providing potting
characteristics similar to silicone rubber
cable and allowing the user to achieve a superior
dielectric bond and an excellent medium for
silicone rubber potting such as in high voltage
power supplies. Primer should be applied to
the cable as required by the bonding or
potting material manufacturer. With the
addition of a Nomex woven jacket over the silicone
coated surface of the FEP insulation, the
cable offers excellent abrasion resistance.

* Add 0.63 mm/.025" to diameter of cable
insulation for diameter over the NOMEX jacket.
NOTE:
To prevent fraying of the Nomex jacket, apply a
small bead of epoxy resin around the end of the
Nomex and allow to cure and then strip back the
Nomex jacket at the epoxy edge. Alternative
methods include a small length of heat shrink
sleeving or silicone rubber sleeving. NOMEX is
a trademark for Dupont Aramid (polyamide) fibre.
